This course will describe the RNA-Seq analysis workflow, including quality control, read alignment, data normalization, gene quantification, differential expression test, clustering, enrichment analysis and network construction. We will also demonstrate how to use the tools (bbsc_portal and RNA analyzer) that we developed for all IMB staffs to analyze their own RNA-Seq data. We strongly encourage all users who need RNA-Seq data analysis could participate this course.

IMB Bioinformatics Core is holding a training course series - Python for Bioinformatics. This training series is composed of two courses, Basic and Advanced. The basic course is an introductory python programming course which will cover all the essential basics and core concepts of the Python language. The advanced python programming course will explore the various Python tools and libraries used in analyzing DNA, RNA and Protein data, as well as perform machine learning tasks. This introductory python programming course will cover all the essential basics and core concepts of the Python language. All IMB students and researchers with no or little programming experience are welcome to attend. The main goal of this course to help the users be able to build the basic skills of data analysis in bioinformatics and apply on their own researches. Considering the IMB regulation of COVID-19 prevention, both of these courses will be live-streaming and also be recorded for download later on. Chun-Nan Ch (紀俊男) who is a very experienced lecturer in programming teaching, will lecture these two courses. Albert Yu (余承欣) will be aside to assist the teaching during the entire course. The students who complete the assigned projects will be issued a certificate from IMB Bioinformatics core.
